state, and is commonly known by the acronym SCISDA.
-

square dancing in all its forms -- square dancing, round dancing, contra dancing,
clogging, line dancing, etc. -- that they could not provide individually.
The purpose of the Council is:
-
to promote square dancing in all its forms as a wholesome, family-type recreation.
-
to expand communications among the associations, the clubs, and the dancers within
the state
-
to help coordinate and further the development of all clubs and associations; provide
continuity and balance to the growing activity of square dancing.
-
to find ways to improve relationships among dancers, callers, clubs, and area associations.
-
to foster respect and trust among all areas of the state by providing a common meeting
ground.
The Council provides:
-
the leadership to put on the State Square Dance Convention each year with a variety
of callers and cuers.
-
the Touch-A-Quarter, the state news publication for all dancers.
-
a share in an excellent insurance program for those Associations and member clubs
that choose to participate.

of square dancing.
-
a directory of clubs, locations, contacts, nights for each dance, and the level of
each dance.

own association.
The Council needs:
-
your views and comments on square dancing in your area and the state.
-
your support of the state convention and other programs through your attendance and
voluntary help.
The Council does not:
